Questions and Answers
I want to rent a Pontiac Solstice for the weekend in Toronto? I wanted to rent a Pontiac Solsitce for the weekend and I can't seem to find a car rental place that rents them in Toronto. Does anyone know where to rent one for the weekend?

Doc replied: "I don't know but want to help, and give a clue, leads to another clue or contact, and so on. Call Addison Pontiac/Cadillac/Buick and ask them. If they don't help, try Hawley in Mississauga. Also, Old Mill, these are the top 3 IMO. Good luck."

where can i rent a pontiac solstice in the Detroit area? My Prom is June 5th, so i'm trying to get this information as fast as possible. My dream car is a pontiac solstice. I've been looking for the car, I don't rent cars so i don't know much about renting. I do know that Budget.com doesn't have it nor does Enterprise.com. Help? Please? I'm NOT getting the car myself .. my sis is for me ..

Mopar Muscle Gal replied: "Unfortunately even if you can find one? you font fit the minimum age to be able to rent a car"

bermanap replied: "Try actually calling the rental places instead of just using their websites. They might be able to get you one. You can try Avis, Enterprise, Alamo, Budget, Dollar...."

mah1407 replied: "call budget, and enterprise directly. Some local places have different cars than what is on the site. you also have hertz, and also look for random places that rent cars."

Lindsey B replied: "Avis or Enterprise should be able to get you one. Try calling the individual offices (I know Enterprise has Jags that they don't show on the website). I agree with the comment on the age requirements. When you sister rents the car she will have to sign something that says no other drivers will be using the car. Letting you drive it (even if nothing happens to the car) would make her liable for fees, fines, and even a possible ticket. Add to that it's technically a breech of contract and insurance fraud. Plus, in Michigan the minimal rental age is 18, so if you are 17 you are S.O.L. Just rent a limo and save the dream car for college graduation or marriage."

Help me decide what car to rent please!? I am doing a road trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas, los Angeles and back to SF along Route 1. My Sister desperately wants a Musang Convertible but they are quick expensive to rent and fuel economy is not great. I was thinking about a Pontiac Solstice from Budget Rent-a-Car for $400 a week. I am a keen driver so would like a good driver's car. I have driven a Mustang before and had tremendous fun so I wouldn't mind one again but I am wondering if the Solstice will be just as much fun?

Kristian K replied: "I had similar trip in 2006. I went from Seattle to Frisco, then to Las Vegas (via Death Valley) with Hertz Ford Taurus. Awful car for a Driver.... but comfortable and great mileage (30mpg US gallons). At Vegas I got Chevy Equinox because Taurus's aircon was dying away. Chevy was much better, but still not a driver's car. I drove from Vegas to Grand Canyon and finished in LA. I had lot's of luggage and my girlfriend on board:-) I really regretted that Hertz doesn't do Mazdas, at least no at the spots I went to, I'd had Mazda 6 anytime, it's great driver's car (chassis is way better than mustang's or solstice's) and the mileage's good too. I don't know what's the weather like in the area but I'd stay away from convertibles for driving in the desert. May be fun for a while but having the brain baked isn't my idea of a good trip."
